Sermorelin
Promotes deeper sleep and recovery
- Muscle Growth/Recovery
- Better Sleep Quality
- Anti-Aging
Contraindicated in individuals with active malignancy due to theoretical tumor growth promotion via GHRH receptors Use caution in diabetics as GH elevation may worsen glycemic control Not for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women Should not be used with obesity caused by conditions other than growth hormone deficiency
Mechanism of Action
Sermorelin is a synthetic analog of the first 29 amino acids of endogenous growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). It binds to GHRH receptors (GHRH-R) on pituitary somatotroph cells, activating adenylate cyclase and increasing cyclic AMP, which stimulates the synthesis and pulsatile release of growth hormone (GH). This preserves the natural feedback regulation of the GH axis, unlike exogenous GH administration. Key Pathways: GHRH receptor activation on pituitary somatotrophs, cAMP/PKA signaling cascade, Pulsatile GH release and downstream IGF-1 production, ERK1/2 MAPK pathway activation By stimulating natural GH secretion, sermorelin promotes the downstream effects of GH including enhanced protein synthesis for muscle recovery, improved deep sleep architecture (GH is primarily released during slow-wave sleep), and metabolic effects associated with the GH/IGF-1 axis. The pulsatile nature of stimulated GH release more closely mimics physiological patterns than direct GH administration.
