Tesamorelin
Reduces stubborn belly fat effectively
- Visceral Fat Reduction
- Muscle Growth/Fat Loss
- Anti-Aging
Contraindicated in patients with active malignancy due to potential effects of elevated IGF-1 on tumor growth Should not be used during pregnancy or in patients with disruption of the hypothalamic-pituitary axis Visceral fat reduction reverses upon discontinuation - benefits require ongoing treatment
Mechanism of Action
Tesamorelin is a synthetic analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) that binds to GHRH receptors on pituitary somatotroph cells, stimulating the natural pulsatile release of endogenous growth hormone. This differs from direct GH administration because it works through the body's normal regulatory feedback mechanisms, allowing for more physiological GH secretion patterns and subsequent increases in insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1). Key Pathways: GHRH receptor activation on anterior pituitary somatotrophs, Endogenous growth hormone pulsatile secretion, IGF-1 axis activation and downstream lipolytic signaling The GH/IGF-1 elevation induced by tesamorelin preferentially mobilizes visceral adipose tissue, leading to measurable reductions in trunk fat and waist circumference. Clinical trials demonstrate approximately 15-18% reductions in visceral fat over 26-52 weeks, with concurrent improvements in triglyceride levels and patient-reported body image outcomes.
